‘Tutankhamun’ Soundtrack Details

tutankhamunSony Classical will release a soundtrack album for the ITV mini-series Tutankhamun. The album features selections from the show’s original music composed by Christian Henson (The Devil’s DoubleTriangleSeveranceSinbad, Black DeathWild Bill). The soundtrack will be released digitally overseas on October 14, 2016. Tutankhamun is directed by Peter Webber (The Girl with the Pearl Earring, Hannibal Rising), written by Guy Burt (Jekyll and HydeThe Borgias) and stars Max Irons, Sam Neill, Catherine Steadman, Amy Wren, Jonathan Aris and Rupert Vansittart. The 4-parter tells the story of Howard Carter’s discovery of the tomb of one of Ancient Egypt’s forgotten pharaohs, the boy-king Tutankhamun. The mini-series will premiere in the UK this fall on ITV. No word yet on a U.S. air date.

Soundtrack Album for ITV’s ‘HIM’ Released

himSilva Screen Records has released a soundtrack album for the ITV drama HIM. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Nick Green (Wild at HeartWaterloo Road). The soundtrack is now available digitally in the UK. Click here to listen to audio samples. HIM is created by Paula Milne, directed by Andy De Emmony and stars Fionn Whitehead, Katherine Kelly, James Murray, Patrick Robinson and Simona Brown. The supernatural drama follows a 17-year-old boy, known only as HIM, who is engaged in a primal struggle to contain the terrifying secret of a supernatural power he has inherited from his grandfather. The 3-parter premiered earlier this week in the UK on ITV. No word yet on a domestic premiere.

Score Album for ITV’s ‘Cold Feet’ Reboot to Be Released

cold-feetSony Music will release a score album for the ITV original series Cold Feet. The album features selections from the original music of the new season composed by Edmund Butt (The DarkAn Adventure in Space and TimeAshes to Ashes). The soundtrack will be released digitally on November 11, 2016. The label has previously released a 2-CD set featuring the songs from the reboot. Cold Feet is created by Mike Bullen and stars James Nesbitt, John Thomson, Robert Bathurst and Hermione Norris. The comedy drama follows the intertwining lives of a group of Manchester friends at different stages in their relationships. The new season of the series recently premiered in the UK on ITV. A second reboot season is expected to premiere in 2017.

Soundtrack for ITV’s ‘The Halcyon’ to Be Released

the-halcyonDecca Records will release a soundtrack album for the ITV series The Halcyon. The album features selections from the show’s original music composed by Samuel Sim (AwakeHome FiresCombat Hospital). Also included are two original songs written for the show by Jamie Cullum, as well as track by singer Beverley Knight who has a special guest appearance in the series where she performs at the Café De Paris. The soundtrack will be released digitally and physically in the UK the first week of January. The Halcyon is created by Charlotte Jones & Jack Lothian and stars Steven Mackintosh, Olivia Williams, Kara Tointon, Alex Jennings, Matt Ryan, Hermione Corfield and Mark Benton. The 8-part series is set in 1940 London and tells the story of a bustling and glamorous five star hotel at the centre of London society and a world at war. The show will premiere in the UK on January 2, 2017 on ITV.

Soundtrack for ITV’s & PBS’ Victoria’ Released

victoriaDubois Records has released a soundtrack album for the ITV limited series Victoria. The album features the show’s original music composed by Martin Phipps (Woman in Gold, War and Peace, The Keeping Room, Peaky Blinders) and Ruth Barrett (Harry Brown, City of Tiny Lights, Hunted) with vocals from the Mediaeval Baebes choir. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Victoria is created by novelist Daisy Goodwin and stars Jenna Coleman, Rufus Sewell, Alex Jennings, Paul Rhys, Tom Hughes and Peter Firth. The 8-part series follows the early life of Queen Victoria, from her accession to the throne at the age of 18 through to her courtship and marriage to Prince Albert. ‘Unforgotten’ Season 2 Soundtrack Released

Hulu’s ‘Harlots’ to Feature Music by Rael Jones

harlotsRael Jones is composing the original score for the new Hulu original series Harlots. The show is created by Moira Buffini (Jane EyreTamara Drewe) & Alison Newman and stars Samantha Morton, Jessica Brown Findlay, Eloise Smyth and Lesley Manville. The drama is set in 18th century London and centers on a woman who struggles to reconcile her roles as brothel owner and mother to her daughters. Buffini and Newman are also executive producing the project with Alison Owen (ElizabethSaving Mr. Banks), Debra Hayward (Les MiserablesBridget Jones’s Baby) and Alison Carpenter. Harlots will premiere on March 29 in the U.S. on Hulu. The series is co-produced with ITV, where it will air in the UK later this year.

As previously reported, Jones also has the feature drama My Cousin Rachel starring Rachel Weisz & Sam Claflin coming up. The movie will be released in the U.S. on June 9, 2017 by Fox Searchlight.

‘Broadchurch’ The Final Chapter Soundtrack Details

The album features the music from the 6-parter composed by Ben Bartlett (Walking with DinosaursThe Mark of CainThe Ballad of Big Al). Alex Heffes Scoring ITV’s ‘Next of Kin’

Alex Heffes has composed the original score for the first couple of episodes of the new ITV drama Next of Kin. The show is created by Paul Rutman (Indian SummersVera) & Natasha Narayan and stars Archie Panjabi and Jack Davenport. The 6-part series follows a Mona, a whip-smart GP who lives in London with a political lobbyist husband. Their family life is shattered when Mona’s brother is brutally murdered while working for a medical charity abroad. Justin Chadwick (The Other Boleyn Girl) has directed the first three episodes. Heffes has previously collaborated with Chadwick on the movies Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom and The First Grader. Next of Kin will premiere in the UK on January 8 on ITV.

As previously reported, Heffes also has the features Pickpockets and The Elephant Queen coming up.

Christian Henson Scoring ITV’s ‘Trauma’

Christian Henson (The Devil’s Double, Triangle, Black Death, Tommy’s Honour) has composed the music for the new ITV mini-series Trauma. The 3-part psychological thriller is written by Mike Bartlett (Doctor Foster, The Town), directed by Marc Evans (Snow Cake, My Little Eye) and stars Adrian Lester, John Simm, Rowena King, Jade Anouka and Lyndsey Marshal. The series centers on the lives of Dan and Jon, two fathers, whose lives collide when Dan’s son is stabbed and tragically dies in the trauma department under the care of Jon. Bartlett is also executive producing the project with Francis Hopkinson (Wallander, Home Fires, Jekyll & Hyde). Henson has previously scored the Hopkinson-produced mini-series TutankhamunTrauma is set to premiere in February on ITV in the UK. No word yet on a domestic premiere.

Ilan Eshkeri Scoring ITV’s & Amazon’s ‘Vanity Fair’

Ilan Eshkeri (Stardust, Layer Cake, Still Alice, The Young Victoria) is composing the original score for the upcoming ITV and Amazon original mini-series Vanity Fair. The show is developed by Gwyneth Hughes (The Girl) and stars Olivia Cooke, Tom Bateman, Suranne Jones, Michael Palin, Johnny Flynn, Martin Clunes, Frances de La Tour, Claudia Jessie, Simon Russell Beale, Claire Skinner, David Flynn and Charlie Rowe. The 7-parter based on Williams Makepeace Thackeray’s classic 1848 novel of the same title is set against the backdrop of the Napoleonic Wars, and tells the story of Becky Sharp as she attempts to claw her way out of poverty and scale the heights of English Society. James Strong (United, Broadchurch) is directing the Mammoth Screen production and is also executive producing the project with Hughes, Damien Timmer (Victoria, The Prisoner) and Tom Mullens(Poldark, Endeavour). Vanity Fair will premiere later this year in the UK on ITV and in the U.S. on Amazon.

Dominik Scherrer to Score Amazon’s & ITV’s ‘The Widow’

Dominik Scherrer has been tapped to compose the music for the upcoming Amazon/ITV original series The Widow. The show is created and executive produced by Harry & Jack Williams (Fleabag, Liar, Rellik) and stars Kate Beckinsale as a woman who has cut herself off from her previous life but is pulled back to the face that world after seeing her supposedly deceased husband on the news. Eliza Mellor (Liar, Poldark) is producing the 8-part thriller, which will be directed by Sam Donovan (Humans, Liar, Utopia) and Olly Blackburn (Donkey Punch, Glue). Scherrer has previously collaborated with Harry & Jack Williams on BBC’s The Missing, for which he received his first Emmy Award nomination. No word yet on a premiere date for The Widow.

Scherrer (Ripper StreetPrimeval) has also recently scored the Netflix/BBC series Requiem (with Natasha Khan), which is premiering tonight in the UK. The composer also has the BBC mini-series The City and the City coming up.

Niall Byrne Scoring ITV’s ‘Hatton Garden’

Niall Byrne has recently composed the music for the upcoming ITV mini-series Hatton Garden. The drama is written by Jeff Pope (Philomena, Stan and Ollie) & Terry Winsor (Essex Boys) and stars Timothy Spall, Kenneth Cranham, Brian F. O’Byrne, David Hayman, Alex Norton, Ian Puleston-Davies, Geoff Bell and Nasser Memarzia. The 4-parter tells the inside story of how an elderly gang of career criminals pulled off the audacious 2015 burglary in London’s diamond district. Paul Whittington (The Moorside) is directing the project and Pope & Winsor also serve as the executive producers. Hatton Garden will premiere in the UK later this year on ITV.

Byrne whose previous scoring credits include the feature Parked and the mini-series The Widower and Little Blue Boy has also recently scored the thriller In Darkness directed by Anthony Byrne and starring Natalie Dormer, Ed Skrein, Emily Ratajkowski and Jan Bijvoet. The movie centers on a blind pianist who gets pulled into London’s dark underbelly after she overhears a struggle in the apartment above hers that leads to the death of her neighbor. The thriller has just been picked up by Vertical Entertainment for a domestic release later this year.

Lakeshore Records has announced a soundtrack album for the ITV original series Marcella.The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Lorne Balfe (The LEGO Batman Movie, Pacific Rim Uprising, Genius, The Crown, Terminator Genisys, Home). Also included is the opening titles song Fall performed by The Bug feat. Inga Copeland. The soundtrack will be released digitally on March 9, 2018. Check back on this page for the pre-order link. Marcella is created by Hans Rosenfeldt & Nicola Larder and stars Anna Friel, Nicholas Pinnock, Nina Sosanya, Ray Panthaki, Jamie Bamber and Jack Doolan. The series is set in contemporary London and follows a detective who returns to the Metropolitan Police’s Murder Squad after a 10-year long career break to start a family. The crime drama’s first season premiered in 2016 and the second season currently airs in the UK Monday nights on ITV and will be available in the U.S. and other markets on Netflix.

‘The Good Karma Hospital’ Soundtrack Announced

Silva Screen Records has announced a soundtrack album for the ITV series The Good Karma Hospital. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Ben Foster (Thunderbirds Are Go!, Happy Valley, Our Girl, Torchwood). The soundtrack will be released digitally on April 20, 2018 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Good Karma Hospital is created by Dan Sefton and stars Amanda Redman, Amrita Acharia, Neil Morrisey and James Floyd. The dram follows a disillusioned doctor who heads for South India hoping to make a fresh start. ITV’s ‘Deep Water’ to Feature Music by Toydrum

Toydrum (aka Pablo Clements and James Griffith) have signed on to score the upcoming ITV series Deep Water. The show is written by Anna Symon (Indian Summers) based on the Windermere series of novels by Paula Daly and stars Anna Friel, Sinead Keenan and Rosalind Eleazar. The 6-parter follows the lives of three complex and vibrant women, each struggling to keep their heads above very deep water. Symon is also executive producing the project with Karen Wilson (Utopia, MI-5, The Tunnel) and Diederick Santer (Grantchester, Flowers). Deep Water will premiere in 2019 on ITV in the UK.

As previously reported, Toydrum (DetourPrevengeFuture World) also have the British comedy A Guide to Second Date Sex starring George MacKay & Emma Rigby coming up.

Edmund Butt is currently scoring the upcoming ITV and Sundance Now original series Cheat. The show is created by Gaby Hull and stars Katherine Kelly, Molly Windsor, Tom Goodman-Hill, Lorraine Ashbourne,Peter Firth and Adrian Edmondson. The 4-parter follows a university professor who starts a dangerous relationship with her student and is thrust into a case of academic deception. Louise Hooper is directing all four episodes of the psychological thriller, which is executive produced by Harry & Jack Williams (The Missing, Liar) and Christoper Aird (Troy: Fall of a City, Call the Midwife). Cheat will premiere in the UK next year on ITV and in the U.S. on SundanceTV.

Butt (Life on Mars, Ashes to Ashes, Bancroft, Mistress) also continues to score ITV’s Cold Feet, which will return for its eighth season in 2019. He also recently scored the first season of the YouTube Premium series Origin.

Premiering on Tuesday, February 5, is the BET original series American Soul created by Devon Greggory & Jonathan Prince and starring Sinqua Walls, Jason Dirden, Iantha Richardson, Christopher Jefferson, Katlyn Nichol and Jelani Winston. The show’s original music is composed by Kurt Farquhar (Black Lightning, The King of QueensStitchers, The Neighborhood). Premiering on Friday, February 8, is the Hulu original series PEN15 created by Maya Erskine, Anna Konkle & Sam Zvibleman and starring Erskine & Konkle themselves. Leo Birenberg (Cobra Kai, Son of Zorn, Kung Fu Panda: Paws of Destiny) is composing the show’s original music. The comedy executive produced by Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer & Jorma Taccone of The Lonely Island follows two thirteen-year-old outcasts in the year 2000. The series’ full first season will be available to stream on Friday exclusively on Hulu.

Also premiering on Friday is the British series White Dragon created by Mark Denton & Jonny Stockwood and starring John Simm, Anthony Wong, Emilia Fox, Katie Leung, Tom Wu, Anthony Hayes and Dervla Kirwan. The show’s original music is composed by Raffertie. Mercury Classics has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music last year when the drama premiered in the UK on ITV under the title Strangers. Also premiering in the U.S. on Friday is the Spanish romantic thriller The Tree of Blood (El arbol de la sangre) directed by Julio Medem and starring Ursula Corberó, Álvaro Cervantes, Najwa Nimri and Ángela Molina. Lucas Vidal (Fast & Furious 6The RavenThe Cold Light of DayThe Quiet Ones) has composed the film’s original music. A soundtrack album has been released last fall when the movie opened overseas.
